The benefits of such a role are many... just look at what you have done for the morale of the group. But more than that, I do not think many of the others would suffer your death well. [...]

These past two days were a reminder that even I cannot take myself off the chessboard easily, without leaving behind suffering.

[And he knew that; he recognized the facts and reconciled with the outcome -- and would do so again if he thought it necessary. But he isn't some callous, immovable object like some think of him. Chiron has always allowed himself to feel deeply; it's because he feels deeply that he holds himself with honor and pride.

[ he is. deeply worried about what would happen if he died. mostly because he's deeply worried that hua cheng will burn the entire game down but that's besides the point.

morale does make him smile a little further. it certainly did something for xie lian's morale. ] ...I think we all needed it. Admittedly, I have known for some time now that he was going to be safe this weekend - it was a lucky guess on my part, but we had a conversation the day I had to make my choice that led my instincts to him, so I am glad. It was a bit silly, though, watching him give his speech.

But - I am agreement. Archer, can you tell me a bit about the other two? Are you the only one who is protecting people like this? If it will help the Realm, I want to find them, too.

Ideally I'd have him thank you as well -- it's due to your kindness and well-honed instincts that has given him another chance at life here. But I understand it is more important to speak nothing of your role for now.

There is only so much I can speak about, as I am also bound by promises to keep them safe and anonymous. But this is a duty that I have imposed upon myself - to see you all meet, if perhaps it would better assist the Realm.

As of now, my assumption is there is a special ability given to one person in every team, though I need to verify with my Leader first... but regardless, let me know if at any point you'd like to meet with them.

They are both careful and would keep your role a secret, as it would be dangerous to out any of you without permission.

[ hua cheng can also be very... sometimes. he gets it. but! xie lian acquiesces to the thank you, instead, shaking his head with a little laugh. ] I don't need him to know it was me - in fact, I'd rather he didn't. I would like him to keep thinking that the universe was simply kind to him, and that not all hope has to be lost. A lesson, if you will -- even beings as old as us can still learn.

[ and that's a conversation they've had before. what's the point of teaching if you do not learn from the people around you, if you become so set in stone? xie lian is happy that his convictions have been proven correct...and his little act of warmth and kindness is best to remain anonymous, for now.

to the meeting, xie lian nods; seriousness immediately lights his gaze. ] I'd like to meet with them as soon as possible, if there's a way you can help with that - this week would be best. I will be meeting with my leader on Monday, and I can ask them about it, as well, for as much as they can share with me. Since we always meet on Monday nights, I wouldn't be surprised if it is the same for the others, so... I'd like to catch them tomorrow if I can.

...I had assumed much of the same thing in terms of these roles - I knew I couldn't be the only one, and I have some suspicions about the powers of others, though they are only suspicions. But if we can coordinate them together to help the Realm overall, I think that will be ideal.
